Edison chopsticks, which kids love! It’s easier and more interesting to use for beginners of all ages.
Chopsticks are not just tools to eat food with, but one of the unique cultural heritages in the Orient. It`s recognized that using chopsticks helps to develop the intellectual faculties. As a study says that most of the intellectual powers are developed at the age of 3 to 7 years, little kid’s using chopsticks is very important to develop their intellectual faculties.
Designed for adults as well.
Where to buy? Here
1. Lunch at Rong Liang 榮亮閤 @ Clementi
This restaurant (kopitiam actually) selling Hong Kong styled roasted pork, char siew, chicken and duck rice. Perhaps not the best in town, but easily one of the cheapest one. I always come here to satisfy my crave of saucy juicy char siew whenever I pass by this area.

ONLY S$4.00

I ride there with Dahon Curve D3, and with the help of public transport.
How to get there? Take bus number 30 or 51, alight opposite Ginza Plaza, walk through the Food Market is the block 725.

Rong Liang 榮亮閤 Clementi Block 725.
2. Dinner at Geylang Claypot Rice @ Lorong 33
This claypot chicken rice is really yummy. If you don’t mind the waiting time, eating by the road side, and the weird on-lookers passing by your table, if you are a claypot-lover, this is a must-try.
FMHO, this is even better than the one @ Clementi Block 328. What we have ordered:

Double Boiled / Sun-dried Vegetable Soup 菜干燉湯

Sweet & Sour Prawn stir-fried with Fresh Fruits 鮮果炒蝦球

and of course the Claypot Chicken Rice for 2 pax… 當然少不了瓦煲雞魬

Total S$41.40. Slight expensive but we guess it must be the succulent prawns that cost the bill.

Lorong 33 Geylang, you hardly can miss it as the shop is facing the main road.

Operating hours: 1130am-230pm, 5pm-12mn. Close on Monday.

You can place the order before you go, or else have to wait for at least 30 minutes.

We have actually planned to visit Kukup on Saturday evening because Singapore is dull just to satisfy the crave for seafood. We left our place at 530pm.
However we changed our mind after seeing a long vehicle queue at the Tuas checkpoint. Not a very good time to leave at this hour, and partly because of the fugitive, the security scan is intensive. So we went to Night Safari instead that evening. The plan of going to Kukup for seafood was scrapped.
Well, not actually. Then the next day, we had a day trip to Kukup…
Driving from Singapore to Kukup is very convenient. It’s about 1-2 hour drive away from Tuas depends on the traffic condition. Just look for the signboard indicates Pontian and there is only one way to Kukup once you have reached to Pontian Kechil. map.
We reached the destination at 3pm. We had a leisure walk in the Air Masin Fishing Village and took many photos. For your information if you are not aware, the whole village is entirely built above the swamp, elevated by either bamboos or concrete piles. It is an eye-opening experience for a kid (not me hor) who grown up in urban city. And please do bare with the fishy and sea water smell.
However we missed the opportunity to visit to the largest mangrove park at Kukup Island because the park is closed (5pm). So we had no other choice than booked a boat tour visit to the Kelong. RM5 each.
We skipped the seafood here because it was still early (7pm) to have dinner. We decided to go look for nice food in other place, or town would passed by along the way back to Singapore. When we reached Pekan Nanas, I spotted this burger stall by the roadside, and the idea came into our mind - Ramly burger for dinner! We ordered few satay as well.
Yes, we all loved Ramly burgers. Malaysia one, not Singapore. Kukup, we will be back soon…

Who says there is no free lunch?
Where? In the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District: 55 Market Street
When? 3rd-7th Dec 2007
Time? 11am-230pm
A trip to Malacca old town will not consider as perfect if without the Chicken Rice Ball.
As recommended by the taxi driver, we tried the one served in the Chung Wah kopitiam. You probably will not miss this little humble shop if you are coming from the direction to Jonker’s Street (Jalan Hang Jebat) after visiting The Stadthuys. Cross the bridge over the Malacca River and the shop is just on your right hand side after the bridge, opposite the OCBC Bank.
Try to be there early and avoid peak hours (lunch time) if you are those impatient type. Don’t forget to order lime juice (plain ice water with lime inside), it is simply complimenting the meal.
Yesterday finally I’ve made my first time dinning experience this Pasta cafe.
Its “sweet and sour” spicy and very simple to make, I think I can do one better than this, keke.
Not a traditional spaghetti but we loved this. Very tempted to order another plate…
M&M stands for Mushroom & Mozzarella cheese. The boneless chicken was nicely done and very creamy. However, it didn’t blend well with the Aglio Olio spaghetti below, could be better.
Cost us: SGD47.00
Venue: Pasta Cafe @ Takashimaya
