The smileys (emoticons) are used very often in the sentences of e-mails. They started in USA where the internet had also started of course. In Japan, the smileys (emoticons) grew in different manner from U.S.A. Now, there are several kinds of them.

Apparently, Japanese smileys (emoticons) are read vertically while western smileys (emoticons) are read hosizontally. And Japanese smileys have more variation than western ones. I think the reason is that while American (alphabet) letters in computer are 1 byte, Japanese letters in computer are 2 bytes, so Japanese letters can have more characters. And also, Japanese sentences contain Chinese characters, so it is easier to express and recognize something graphic with letters for Japanese people.

First time when I heard this song from the Cafe Del Mar Volume 7 in 2000, I instantly fall in love with it. Until today, this is still one of my favorite tune. It reminds me now of my early 20s, the time when I starting to back to school after 2 years break working as bartender, waiter.

Gosh, time really flies. I am approaching 30.

Spent the entire Sunday in town.

Aquarama07 the event was held at Level 6 in Suntec Convention Center. Admission fee S$8 but we have the complementary tix (thanks for Kenrick) so we walked into the hall very yaya-papaya-ly.

Too crowded by the time we reached there, it’s pretty hard to snap nice photos as many people were fighting for the best position to snap. I have tried my best tho, with my idiot-proof Dimage Xt. Selected some of the nice one here:

Later we had a late lunch at Ministry of Food (MOF) in Marina Square. No MSG, no preservatives, no artificial coloring. So eat with the piece of mind, as much as you can (…afford…).

Celebrating the radio’s # 300 episodes. In the first part of the celebration, Armin brought us 2 hours of non-stop and most requested classic tunes.

Found this drink in NTUC imported from Thailand. Firstly it’s packaging attracted my attention, secondly it’s selling at S$1.

It is nice and sweet, taste like usual barley with a little bit of tea twist. It’s Friday!!
